Description
When I put that conch shell into my 10-gallon tank to give my female bettas something else to interest them, I was NOT expecting it to become a lair!
Gem, the smaller of my female double tails, has claimed this shell as HERS. Woe to any other she-betta who gets too close; Gem will be in their face before you can say "shell". And should any of the others try to enter, they will be chased all over the tank.
The shell will be removed or turned over before Gem gets big enough to potentially get stuck in there.
