The Dark Lord - Betta Obsidian by UltraRodimus The Dark Lord - Betta Obsidian by UltraRodimus
I finally got out of the house again, borrowing mom's car keys, and made my way out to the pet store for s leaf hammock and some betta food, and the store's manager informed me that they had a new supplier for bettas. And they had some really pretty bettas. Butterfly-patterned DTs, pale green-golds, purples, reds and blues and golds... and BLACK! I wasn't sure I'd be able to afford one, so I had to leave without, but the next day I was back and came home with this gorgeous creature.

Obsidian is a super delta black lace plakat. His fins and scales are pure, jet-black, aside from the white tips of his ventral fins. He knows how pretty he is, judging by the way he poofs out and parades back and forth along the tank wall. Except when he sees the camera coming; then he bolts and hides. Though a black betta hiding behind a pink plant is not very effective XD

^_^ He is a beauty. Also a very active little critter. I moved him to one half of the divided 5-gallon (need a divider for the 10 and then I'll move him over there) and he is everywhere in his half of the tank.

The only thing i don't care about dividers in tanks is if one betta gets sick the other one can, I'd rather give them their own tank each.

Problem with separate tanks is that I live in a very small room, and all of my tanks have to be in that very small room. I'm cramped for space, so dividers are the only way to give my finbabies plenty of room to swim

He's a beauty - gotta love these white belly tips *resists urge to shake* Kudos to store manager for getting this new supplier.
Are black bettas more expensive than others ? I suppose a betta's price must vary greatly, between size, tail shape, color richness and color rarity ^^

It's more fin form that determines the price, not color. Basic veils usually go for around $7.95 here, fancy crowns around $10.95, doubles and rounds/plakats at $12.95. Dragons are the most expensive at almost $15, but that's because they cost more for the store to buy, which drives the price up.
